The Philippine Association of Medical Technologists-New York (PAMET-NY) led by its president Vangie V.Robles in cooperation with the Lions Club International held a very successful Health Fair on October 14, 2001 at the social hall of Our Lady of Miracles in Flatland, Brooklyn.

Free medical, vision, dental, and diabetes screening were given to all attendees of the parish by volunteer doctors, dentists, and med techs. nurses and members of the organizations.  “I am grateful for the organizers of this health fair,” says one attendee, “it’s been a while since we have one like this in Brooklyn.”

At the end of the day, when the last chair has been folded and the hall’s door was closed, it’s a great feeling to know that Filipino organizations like PAMET-NY and Lions Club do something for the community. After all, that’s what organizations are about, isn’t it? It’s about unity, community and service.
